"Prioritizing Women's Health"
Committed to the belief of "Women's Health First," Gangnam CHA Hospital provides patient-centered, high-quality medical services and is dedicated to fundamental medical research. It is recognized as Korea's top comprehensive women's hospital.
History and Growth
Originally founded as CHA Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1960, the hospital expanded to a large-scale facility with 200 beds in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam District, in 1984.
Pioneering Surgical Techniques
In 1988, the obstetrics and gynecology department was the first to introduce laparoscopic surgery in Korea. Today, it remains the only hospital in Korea to have performed 5,000 robotic surgeries.
Advanced Maternity and Neonatal Care
With 61 years of professional experience, the hospital offers the highest standard of medical services for high-risk pregnant women and newborns. It has established a new obstetrics hospital with a dedicated high-risk maternal intensive care unit, working in collaboration with pediatrics and the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) to provide rapid response and intensive care for high-risk pregnancies, ensuring safe and healthy deliveries.
Specialized Research and Treatment
The Women's Medical Research Center at Gangnam CHA Hospital focuses on infertility and in vitro fertilization (IVF), making it the leading authority in infertility treatment.
Milestones in IVF
In 1986, Gangnam CHA Hospital's Women's Medical Research Center became the first private hospital (and the third in Korea, including university hospitals) to successfully perform an IVF birth, cementing its position as a pioneer in infertility treatment.
